What types of remodeling projects does Murray Lampert work on?

We specialize in residential, whole-home remodeling projects that incorporate multiple areas of the home. Murray Lampert can help you with the following types of remodeling projects in San Diego:

Our company does not do any new home construction, commercial remodeling, tenant improvement, or any work with apartments or condos.

Does Murray Lampert charge for estimates?

Other than our design agreement, there are no upfront costs unless there are structural issues requiring an independent consultant. Contact us for more information or to request your FREE home remodeling consultation and estimate.

Who handles the architectural and design work?

As San Diego’s preferred design-build contractor since 1975, Murray Lampert manages every aspect of each home remodeling project. We have our own in-house interior designers. All plans and blueprints are generated by our state-of-the-art computer CAD software, and we secure the necessary building permits as part of your home renovation and/or remodel project.

How is my project supervised?

Each home remodeling project we take on has a dedicated Project Manager. Your personal Project Manger is responsible for scheduling the trades and materials, meeting the building inspectors, quality control and completing the final punch list.

Does someone need to be home during the hours when work is going on?

Nope! We install a lock box on site so our Project Managers, designers, and craftsmen can come and go as necesary.

Do you require a down payment?

We do not take down payments on our home improvement contract. Rather, a progress payment schedule is part of our agreement. Payments are made in stages as your remodel or renovation project reaches critical milestones.

How long will it take to complete my home remodeling or renovation project?

Each project is unique, with timing based on scope of work. As a general rule, you can expect the following timelines, depending on your project with us:

  • Second Stories - Minimum 120 working days

  • Room Additions - Minimum 80 - 100 working days

  • Kitchen Remodels - Minimum 50 - 75 working days

  • Total Home Renovations - Minimum 125 - 150 working days

The timeframe in which your project will be completed will be clearly communicated upfront and made part of the overall agreement before any work is started.

What is your warranty?

We provide an exclusive 3-year written warranty on workmanship and materials. Any fixtures or products provided or installed by Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel or the homeowner carry their own manufacturer’s warranty and are not covered under the 3-year guarantee.
