Gregg Cantor: President/CEO
Gregg began working for Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel in 1977 completing job site clean up. After spending a year as a carpenter’s helper in 1978, Gregg concentrated on his education majoring in business. In 1983, he was hired as assistant superintendent and quickly took on a large workload of kitchen and bathroom projects. Within a year, Gregg was promoted to superintendent and in 1985 to Head Superintendent. In 1990, Gregg’s grandfather Murray retired, and he took over as President. Over the years, Gregg has been responsible for managing over 2000 home remodeling and construction projects.
Outside of Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel, Gregg is active in the San Diego Better Business Bureau as Vice Chairman and is a past director at the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Gregg is also co-host of The Approved Home Pro Show on 600 KOGO Radio and San Diego 6 TV.
In his spared time, Gregg enjoys staying fit by running. He also enjoys family time, cooking and Chargers football.
Lisa Cantor: CFO
Gregg met Lisa in November of 1988 and they were married in April 1990. In 1994 Lisa started helping out in the office answering phones and within a couple of years she eventually took over the bookkeeping and finances.
Outside of Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel, Lisa has volunteered in many capacities in the community including the school district, Make-A-Wish and Susan B. Komen.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys cooking, family time and their two dogs (Fred & Ethel).
Patti Atwell: Project Cordinator
Patti Atwell is new member to the Murray Lampert team. Patti comes to Murray Lampert with an expertise in client services and project management, as well as various aspects of design build specializing in kitchen and bath design.
Patti is a Southern California native and a 35 year resident of the San Carlos/ Del Cerro community in San Diego. In her free time Patti volunteers with Sharp Hospital Hospice, enjoys hiking, running and spending time with family and friends.
Frank Piermarini: Architect
Frank Piermarini has been our lead designer since 2004. Frank graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 and in 2009 passed the California Architect’s Exam. Frank has almost 10 years of experience in residential Design/Build Remodeling and is a practical, detail oriented designer, knowledgeable with Federal, State and Local codes. Our ability to obtain permits easily through the local building departments is due to the comprehensive plans and specifications created by Frank. Having a standardized system streamlines the process for our project managers and trades to build on time, on budget and at the highest standards.
In his spare time, Frank enjoys hiking, surfing and running.
Rachel Cantor: Project Designer
Rachel Cantor is the newest member of the Murray Lampert design department and the fourth generation in our family business. Rachel graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree in Architecture. Rachel has developed a holistic understanding of the construction process from participating in projects around the world. She studied at the University of Newcastle in Australia, at the UAA Studio in Germany and at the Over-the-Rhine Design Build Studio in Cincinnati. Her focus is to produce designs that integrate the clients’ needs with an efficient technique.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys painting, playing volleyball and cooking with her family.
Gary Romano: Design Specialist
My commitment is to listen to my client’s ideas and dreams with an open mind, make certain we consider all options and guide them in the process to make their project a reality.
As a native San Diegan and licensed contractor, I have worked with local homeowners to create custom indoor and outdoor living spaces for more than 25 years. I have been blessed to work in an industry for which I truly have a passion and I really enjoy the people I work with and the clients that I meet.
From our first visit, I’m listening carefully to understand their visions and goals for their new living space; what are the most important features they hope to include and who will use the space. Then, together with our Murray Lampert team, we plan and prepare to make those dreams come alive. I am the client’s main contact and I take that responsibility very seriously by always encouraging clients to ask questions or let me know if they have concerns at any time.
With an eye for detail and the expectation that the highest standards be met on every project, I strive to achieve that magic ending where the client steps back and says, “I wouldn’t change a thing.” There is no bigger sense of satisfaction than happy clients who love their “new” home.
Outside of work, my wife, son and I are passionate about sports and about spending time together. I spent many years as a volunteer coaching youth baseball and I enjoy being a San Diego Padres and Chargers fan. I also enjoy playing golf and I actively play softball.
Jon Saltz: Senior Design Specialist
Jon joined the Murray Lampert team in January 2003. He holds a master’s degree in educational technology and worked as an instructional designer in the world of high-tech corporate training before making a career switch to construction, which he learned in the field as an apprentice carpenter. His lifelong passion for architecture made the decision to change careers an easy one.
Jon began working for Murray Lampert as a project manager and quickly became a residential designer. One of the first things he did in his new position was to use his background in educational technology to help streamline the company’s documentation.
Outside work, Jon is interested in music, furniture making and vintage cars and motorcycles. He has volunteered on several Habitat for Humanity projects and also takes an active role in raising his two young children (ages 2 1/2 and 1).
D’Ann Good: Office Manager
D’Ann joined Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel in December 2009 working in Customer Service and Community Relations. She has worked in various fields supporting both client and employee development for the past 10 years. D’Ann acquired her Associates Degree in 2003 from CBS, Houston. She recently relocated to the San Diego area from Corpus Christi, Texas. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
Cheri: Customer Service
Cheri joined Murray Lampert Design Build Remodel in 2015. She works part time in our front office. She retired from her Real Estate career in 2013 so she could travel with her husband. Being a people person she found retirement a little isolating. She says her part time schedule is a perfect combination that allows her time to travel and the ability to work with a great group of people. In her free time, she enjoys snow skiing, camping, cooking and hosting family get togethers.
Roger: Senior Project Manager
My construction history started in 1969 as an apprentice Carpenter. Most of my early years were spent building custom home in Del Cerro and La Jolla area. I became a building contractor in the mid 80’s and continued to pursue residential new home building and remodeling. The early 90’s I pursued residential and light commercial finish and trim contracting and became specialized in that area. By the year 2000 I decided to pursue construction management and started working for many of the prominent San Diego remodelers. Now in 2015 my passion for design built homes has not diminished. I enjoy making homeowners dreams come true. My goal in every project is to pursue excellence in every aspect of the remodeling process. Bringing the many years of experience and talent to producing excellence in building.
